In this online space you should feel free to experiment and play. Try the functions, post messages and start discussions as you wish. Nothing can break! Don't worry if you find it confusing or frustrating in the beginning, this is normal. It will be even more complex as we will be working in more than one language. At this stage you might like to remind yourself of what to do. Then return here to see how to do it.

The space we are using is based on a system called Drupal. It is a powerful Open Source system that many civic groups, for example Civic Space, use to host their communities.

On the bar across the top of the page you see four buttons:

1. About: with information about CIARIS and a short history of this meeting.
   
2. Event details: with a brief progamme and indications of where the meeting will be held.
3. CIARIS Friends: with photographs and profiles of the people who are registered on this site. You can also see who else is online.
   
4. What to do? with suggestions of what you should do.
   

In the left column the navigation is in five sections:

1. Browse

• Blog - where people will be writing something about themselves and their history with CIARIS (as suggested in "What to do?")
• Forum - where you can read and post messages related to the Sunday event.
• Links - where you will find possibly interesting links related to our group. (Contact Bev Trayner if you have suggestions for more links).
• Audio - where you may find audio recordings that people want to share.
• Images - where you will find the photos that people want to share and a "badge" with rotating photographs of past CIARIS related events.
• Recent changes - with a summary of the changes made on the site.

2. Help

• How to use - with these instructions!
• Site map - an overview of the site and syndication for different parts of the site.

3. Your name

• my blog - where you can see and create your own blog posts (which will appear on the front page of the site)
• create content - where you can create a blog entry with any stories, reflections or thoughts you would like to share.
• my account - where you can view your history on this site, edit your account information (user name, password, site interface language) and change your profile and enter information about yourself.

4. Google translation

Here you can translate the entire site into Portuguese, Spanish or French (to be used with care and humour!)
Or you can use Google translator to translate individual posts. You will also see a link to some guidelines for using the translator.

5. Subscribe
You can use RSS syndication to be automatically notified about new posts and new comments. For further information about syndication and RSS feeds, see: http://polen2.wikispaces.com/rss

In the right column of the screen you will see:

• Tags - an accumulation of all our tags that we have used for our messages. The bigger the tag, the more times people have used it.
• New forum topics - when someone starts a new topic, it will appear here.
• Recent comments - the most recent comments made on blogs appear here.

Em Português

Neste espaço podem ficar a vontade para experimentar e brincar. Experimentar as funções, mandar mensagens e iniciar conversas como quiserem. Nada pode estragar-se! Não se preocupem se parece confuso ou frustrante no início; isto é normal. Creio que vai se tornar cada vez mais complexo como estamos a trabalhar em várias línguas. Mas temos mais ainda para ganhar. Nesta fase era útil relembrar-se o que há para fazer e depois voltar cá para ver como o fazer.

O sistema que estamos a usar chame-se Drupal. É uma plataforma bastante poderosa utilizado por muitos grupos cívicos, Civic Space por exemplo, para a sua comunidade.

Na barra na parte superior da página, no lado direito há quatro botões:

About: Informação sobe CIARIS e uma breve historia do CIARIS friends meeting.
Event details: Um pequeno programa e informações sobe a localização do evento.
CIARIS Friends: Fotografias e profiles das pessoas registadas no site. Também pode ver quem mais esta on-line.
What to do? Sugestões do que deve fazer.

• Blog - Onde as pessoas vão escrever sobre elas mesmo e sobre sua historia com CIARIS (Como sugerido em "What to do?" )
• Fórum - Onde pode ler mensagens ligadas ao evento de Domingo
• Links - Onde pode encontrar links relacionados com o nosso grupo (Contactar Bev Trayner se tem sugestões para mais links).
• Áudio - Onde pode encontrar gravações áudio que as pessoas desejam partilhar.
• Imagens - Onde pode encontrar fotografias que as pessoas desejam partilhar e um "badge" com fotografias de eventos anteriores relacionados com CIARIS.

4. Google translation
Onde pode traduzir o site por inteiro em Português, Espanhol ou Francês (a usar com cuidado e sentido de humor!)
Ou pode usar Google translator para traduzir mensagem a mensagem. Também pode ver um link com alguma informação sobre o uso do tradutor.

5. Subscribe
