I live in Setúbal Portugal, a town famous for its fresh fish. It's near the beautiful hills of Arrábida where I do BTT (cross-country cycling). I'm interested in broad horizons and crossing boundaries. That leads me to do a lot of work with communities online. When I'm not at the computer or on my bicycle, I love having good conversations and drinking red wine!

My daughter lives in Manchester, UK, married to a Brazilian teacher of capoeira (Cordão de Ouro, Mestre Suassuna). She gives classes of Afro-Brazilian dance and also does empowerment theatre (based on the work of Augusto Boul) in prisons and in the community in Manchester. My son, who lives with me, is finishing 12º ano on a course of Acção Social.

I read and write in English and Portuguese and can read French, Spanish and Swahili.
